Amazing antique Williams College Classic British Wool Tweed Newsboy Cap (the ultimate in original preppy style) made by the Williams Co-op in the late 1940’s. Wonderful green, golden yellow, white, and some purple colorations of the tweed patterns. Williams school colors are purple and gold, so the inclusion of purple and golden yellow is there for school spirit and representation. Cap is called “BACKSTRAP” for its adjustable strap that has a clasp sliding adjustment in the back. There’s a front snap to adjust the visor. Notice some tiny holes on the stiff visor. These holes don’t go all the way through because there is a stiff backing to the visor to keep it functional. The size is a small, for smallish heads, male or female. This is a rare piece of Americana, preppy Americana style and material. There’s a leather inner ribbing band. This is no doubt 100% fine wool expertly dyed. Williams is considered the best small college in America today. This is a unique antique cap/hat.
