Schering was a German Pharmaceutical Company founded in 1851 (it's US subsidiary was Schering Plough) which later was acquired by Bayer in 2006. This is a vintage (mid century) cuff link and tie clip set that would have been given to pharmacists and possibly physicians as a promotional gift. The classic "pestle and mortar" with recognizable "Rx" is featured on the items. If you look closely, "Coricidin" is inscribed on the pestle, which was introduced by Schering in 1949, most likely when this item was created...or soon after.
