Hand created and Painted approx 25 1/2" Totem Pole created by Artist Jimmy Joseph of Nation: Kwakwaka'wakw (Kwakiuti). Master Carver James (Jimmy) Joseph, born May 13. 1957, in Kwakiulth from Alert Bay, British Columbia. Jimmy feels that he is not from one single place as he has family from many different areas. He lives a traditional lifestyle - hunting, fishing, and attending potlatches. He's also an active member of the Native American Church. Jimmy is a residential school survivor
He is a fourth generation carver and has been carving professionally for over 50 years.

Using traditional designs, materials, techniques, and tools Jimmy creates beautiful carved tables, masks, plaques, totem poles and many other art objects. He draws the designs freehand, then carves and paints them. Each piece is unique. His artwork is just so easy recognizable, it almost doesn't need a signature, there is no one out there who is carving and painting so intricate and detailed.
