Set of Five Beautiful Mid-20th Century Murano Glass Tumblers

These five marvelous glass tumblers are most likely Murano, ca. 1960s. Each glass is a different color: midnight blue/gray, mauve, royal blue with a hint of purple, turquoise/sky blue, and forest/kelly green. The glass pattern is angled ribbing. When you look through it at some angles, the pattern crates the illusion of repeated wavy lines. The disc-shaped base seems to be an attached piece. The inside of the base is partially filled with gold foil in a random pattern. The open underside of each base has a random pattern of gold foil as well. It’s impossible to know if there has been some gold loss on these exposed surfaces, since the foil patterns are random inside as well. If there has been gold loss, it’s the only significant damage. The glasses don’t show chips or cracks. These are very special!

Each glass holds 13 oz. filled to the rim. The glass is heavy—each tumbler weighs 10.2 ounces. Height is 5-3/16”; opening is 3-1/8” across; base diameter is 2-1/8”.
