The MCR series rheometers analyze Electrorheological Fluids (ERFs) in an adjustable electric field, reaching up to 12,500 volts DC (25,000 volts peak to peak, max. current 1 mA). AC is also an option. The voltage is applied to the measuring system's shaft, closing the circuit upon connection. Both measuring systems parallel plate (up to 50 mm) and concentric cylinder geometries (up to 27 mm) can be paired with various temperature devices (Peltier, electrical, convection) to achieve a temperature range from -50C to +300C. Lower temperatures are available upon request.
