This elegant carved figure is an Akuaba (plural: Akua’mma), a traditional fertility doll from the Ashanti people of Ghana. It features a stylized, disc-shaped head and serene facial expression – both typical of classic Ashanti aesthetics. These figures were carried by women hoping to conceive or ensure a healthy child.
Condition: Vintage mid-20th century. Good vintage condition with some signs of age and wear - no cracks or major chips; minor surface wear. Please view all photos carefully because they are a big part of the description.
