This ring was handcrafted in Europe by lost-wax casting (also called "precision casting", or cire perdue), a method adopted from France. The intricate details were created through this process by which a metal sculpture (often silver, gold, brass or bronze) is cast from an original sculpture. The silver and bronze are poured into a mold created from a wax model which is then melted. The stones are set manually without using machinery.
