1919-1931 Detroit Stars Negro League cap / game worn authentic with paperwork. This is a piece of history.. the Detroit Stars are a very famous Negro League team who wore red, white and blue on their caps during a time when players were segregated from the major league. This hat was one of the earliest they wore while exploring different colors.. this off white or cream crown with maroon brim shows off one the rarest caps they wore for a short stint before settling on the traditional red, white and blue with a white or blue star in the middle. The solid D stands for "Detroit" and the cap is 100% a Detroit Stars alternative cap used early on in history. These caps never come up for sale. This is a smaller size but back then, people were smaller. This one has some moth damage but is an amazing survivor. We've only seen this one, and it won't last long.
